Haha, thanks Lauren! The weekend was definitely a lot of fun, but believe you me, there was nothing funny about those hills. They were INSANE.

YES -- isn't that amazing? He literally ran from Medford, Oregon to his home in Medford, Massachusetts!

Yes, I would say so! It wasn't TOO bad, just because a 5K feels so short to me now (haha), but I definitely was feeling it in that second race a whole lot more than I normally would during a regular 10K. I'm curious to see how I'll feel with one race each day during Dopey!

Great idea doing all these races for Dopey practice! I bet those hills were rough... I have to admit that when I was reading about your reaction to them, I chuckled out loud (not because of your situation, but your writing style - it was too funny)!

So that guy literally ran across the country? Like coast to coast? That is hardcore!

Sounds like a really fun weekend; I am looking forward to more recaps!

I didn't realize the 5k and 10k were on the same day. Do you think both without recovery in between affected your half? Of course, I don't know which would be better. This way or the Dopey way with all races on separate days.

They ARE! I can't believe I've never even heard of them before. I'm totally obsessed.

Thanks so much, awesome to see you, too! It'll be funny when we run into each other at a race that's actually held in our state, haha.

It was definitely a lot of fun! I was a bit surprised by the size of the expo; like you said, I was assuming there'd be lots of the magazine's usual sponsors there. I'm still trying to figure out exactly what my issue was during the half...I do think it has a lot to do with the fact that the course was INSANELY hilly. It was no joke!

Haha, I felt the same way; I mean, one says 5K and the other 10K, but they are literally the same medal. The half was also the same, but a larger size. The swag wasn't too bad, but I did have pretty high expectations, since it's Runner's World and they know what we like, right? :)

Thanks! I figure it can't hurt, right? Haha, you can definitely say that...we took full advantage of fall racing season, that's for sure.
