Thanks, Pam! I think anyone who does long runs on treadmills -- or while on vacation, for that matter -- is a total badass! Keeping my fingers crossed that your calf behaves for you!

I figure no matter what plan you use, as long as you get those long runs in, you'll be good to go on race day! ;)

That sounds like a good plan. I should have referred back to the NYC site when looking at plans. I ended up changing over to the Chicago plan which is Nike based. We do long runs and drop back to 14.

Congrats on getting in those long runs. I have not seen the plan with the 10 mile scale back long runs every other week, but it sounds interesting. I am behind on NYC training due to my calf injury, but did manage 12 last weekend on the treadmill while on a river cruise. I hate the treadmill but knew I would be sorry if I did not complete the long run. Summertime pool time is the best, but once the end of August rolls around, I am ready for the fall and cooler temps for running.

OMG, yes! Being able to cool off in the pool after a long run is, quite possibly, the ONE thing I'm going to miss about running in the summer, haha.

It makes me feel better to know that the scale-back weeks are so effective for other runners...I almost feel guilty about the weeks where I "only" run 10 miles. How sick is that?! ;)

It is THE. BEST. THING. EVER. I'm not one for ice baths or anything like that, but the pool feels heavenly after 2+ hours of running. You gotta try it! :)

I'm really going to miss the pool too! Summer pool days are the BESSSSST. Big fan of scale-back weeks too. They're a must for me. Don't think I could get through a training season without them. Great work! Keep on keeping on!
